School Pictures / Schulfotos

Nikolas had his school pictures at the beginning of the month and they've just come in. It's funny. The photo of Nikolas looks like Nikolas, but at the same time there's something about it that seems different from other school pictures. I think that it is, perhaps, that this year he looks more like a boy than a baby. And he is more like a boy than a baby now, so I guess it is only fitting.

The class picture is quite a contrast from last year's where there were a half dozen kids pathetically arranged on a plastic climbing thing in the classroom. This year he has 25 kids in his class, some being three like him, but the rest being 4, 5, and 6. Actually, they mostly seem to be five and six, at least the ones we've talked to, although I've seen the class list and there are three and four year olds on it. Nikolas seems to play well with everyone, though he has his favorites: Celina (5th from the left in the middle row with the blue shirt), Lucas F. (middle of the top row with the striped shirt), Lucas & Thomas (brothers who are Canadian/American and speak English - Lucas is next to the other Lucas in the back row in the white shirt and Thomas is the blond haired boy next to Nikolas.), and Michelle (fourth from the right in the middle row in pink sweater and jeans).
