On the Road Again / Wieder unterwegs

After twelve class sessions, we begin a well deserved (ha ha) vacation today. The university has a two week break for Easter, while Nikolas has a week and a half. We are spending the first week in Südtirol (northern Italy). We will be staying at a "family hotel," called Sonnwies, which caters to kids with playrooms and playgrounds and animals and pony rides near the town of Bressanone/Brixen and just north of the city of Bolzano/Bozen.

Most cities in Südtirol (called Alto Adige in Italian!) have both a German and an Italian name, and most people speak both German and Italian as the region was part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire until the end of World War I when it was ceded to Italy. We're not sure what kind of internet connection there may be, so I will either be blogging from Italy or storing them to post when we get home.
