Departure Day / Abfahrtstag

After months of planning and organizing and cleaning and lists upon lists upon lists, we’ve finally reach our departure day. Our lives have been carefully whittled down to 7 pieces of luggage, which includes everything important to us as well as everything we think we may need in the next school year. Hopefully we have brought the right things.

Making the decision to go to Salzburg was easy. When we weighed the pros and cons, there were so many reasons to go and very few reasons to stay. It’s time for some time away from Pennington. It’s time for something different. It’s time for an adventure.

It’s leaving behind family and friends that make the actual going to Salzburg very hard. We’ve created this blog in hopes that we can keep in touch and keep you updated on our lives in Salzburg. Perhaps we’ll even inspire you to do a little traveling yourself!

During one of the many packing moments where I was wondering just what we had been thinking when we thought packing up our lives and heading overseas was a good idea, I came across this video. It has helped me to keep things in perspective as the packing pace became more and more frenzied – there are so many places in this world to discover and experience.

And so, we are off! We hope to see you dancing in Salzburg soon!
