All Traveled Out / von Reisen übermüdet

We've made very little of our weekend, feeling completely traveled out. Getting from the bedroom to the living room couch seems like a big enough adventure for now. We've played a lot of airplanes and rocket ships, in various rooms of the apartment, but no one has felt inspired to do anything very interesting at all.

We have managed to get a little fresh air, heading over to the nearby hill for some sledding on the little hard-packed snow we have. It is cold here, in the twenties, which isn't that cold but is cold for Salzburg. And somewhere along the way it snowed, only a couple inches which isn't very much, even for Salzburg, but for some reason everyone seems to have forgotten that they were supposed to plow or shovel and so the snow has stayed. Maybe they thought it would melt, but instead it got cold, so the streets and the sidewalks are a mess of snow and glaze and gravel and in sunny patches, slush. It makes heading outside not so desirable, even if we had the desire.

I think we are all ready to be back in a routine, with school and classes, but we still have a few more days to wait. Tuesday is Heilige Drei Könige, day of the three kings (Epiphany) and it will be another holiday. Life resumes on Wednesday.
